Victory Achieved lives up to his name in G2 Neartic S.

Live Oak Plantation’s homebred Victory Achieved earned his first stakes win in dynamic style in Saturday’s Neartic S. (G2) at Woodbine, coming with a very strong stretch run to score a three-length win in the six-furlong turf sprint for older males.

Victory Achieved had placed second in four stakes before Saturday’s breakthrough win. After an alert break, he settled into fourth and tracked the leaders until turning for home, when he swung four-wide for his winning move. Going the best of all and especially strong in deep stretch, the bay 5-year-old powered clear and stopped the timer in 1:09.30 on the “good” turf.

“This is a horse we had high hopes on,” trainer Marck Casse said. “He’s kind of had an up and down career. He’s very good right now. We’ve been targeting this race for a long time with him.”

According to a Woodbine press release, Casse also mentioned that Victory Achieved could be considered for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) later this month at Keeneland.

Victory Achieved is out of Lady of Victory and improved to five wins with four seconds and a third in 14 starts with earnings of $343,097.
