Souper Quest on cruise control in Monmouth Park’s Wolf Hill S.

Live Oak Plantation’s homebred Souper Quest overcame a tardy start to roll to a 6 ¼-length victory in the $100,000 Wolf Hill S. at Monmouth Park.

Moved from the turf to the sloppy main track, the 5 ½-furlong Wolf Hill was reduced to a field of four, with Souper Quest in post 1. The 6-year-old hesitated at the break and spotted the field several lengths, but quickly found his stride to rush past his three foes and take the lead after about a furlong. Once in front, Souper Quest was never threatened. He opened up on the field at the top of the stretch to coast home an easy winner.

Souper Quest, who placed in four stakes prior to Saturday’s win, is now 7-4-3 in 21 starts and has earned $494,872. Souper Quest’s dam Lady of Victory has one other foal, the graded stakes-placed Victory Achieved.
