Live Oak Plantation’s 3-year-old filly Let It Ride Mom is now a multiple stakes winner following her win in the $107,000 La Lorgnette S. over Woodbine’s main track on Saturday afternoon.
The bay filly won the Glorious Song S., and was twice stakes-placed, over the same surface last year.
Let It Ride Mom, second choice of the bettors, was three-wide most of the 1 1/16-mile trip, sitting a few lengths off the pace before making her move with jockey Patrick Husbands outside the quarter pole. She came on even terms with Ghostly Presence with a furlong to go, outrunning her foe to hit the wire in 1:43.58.
“I was getting a nice stalking trip,” said Husbands. “She was enjoying it, her ears were pricked. I was just waiting for Hernandez to move. At the top of the lane, he moved and I got the chance to get outside of him and she showed me she was the best today.”
Trained by Mark Casse, Let It Ride Mom is now 3-3-0 in nine starts and has earned $187,106.
