Live Oak and trainer Bill Mott sent out the 2-year-old filly Lady of Victory to a thrilling triumph by a nose on the turf at Saratoga on Sunday in her second lifetime start.
After debuting last month in a main track sprint, the daughter of War Front found the surface switch and added distance to her liking, setting all the pace and gamely holding off Doukas, who was in second the entire trip (VIDEO).
Lady of Victory picked up $49,800 for the win. Live Oak was the winning bidder at $410,000 for Lady of Victory at the 2013 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
