Zero Hour decimates Woodbine MdSpWt field

Live Oak’s Zero Hour looked like a colt with a big future in his six-length maiden special weight score Sunday at Woodbine, his second lifetime start.

Galloping along smoothly down the backstretch while several lengths off the lead early, the bay son of Bernardini began to inch closer around the turn, then took off with a sudden move coming into the stretch to leave the field reeling as he poured it on in the stretch.

He completed the seven furlongs on the synthetic surface in 1:23 3/5.

Trained by Mark Casse, Zero Hour was bred in Kentucky by Summer Wind Farm and was the sales-topper at the OBS March 2-year-old sale. The colt is out of the stakes winner Misty Hour and is a half-brother to a pair of stakes winners, including multiple graded winner India. He also comes from the same family as Live Oak’s multiple Grade 1 winner To Honor and Serve.
