Live Oak Plantation’s homebred filly Ultimate Love will try to extend her unbeaten streak in Friday’s $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) at Del Mar.
Ultimate Love has progressed very nicely in each of her three starts, all on the grass. She broke her maiden July 24 at Colonial Downs at a mile, then shipped to Laurel Park, where she won a one-mile allowance on Sept. 5 by 6 ¾-lengths. The chestnut filly made her first stakes appearance in the Selima S. on Sept. 27, also at Laurel Park. Once again, she was victorious, winning by four lengths.
Ultimate Love, a daughter of leading sire Curlin, is out of Tsunami of Love, whose dam My Typhoon (IRE) earned over $1.3 million and won six graded stakes, topped by the Diana S. (G1). My Typhoon’s siblings include incomparable duo of Galileo (IRE) and Sea the Stars (IRE). Ultimate Love’s third dam Urban Sea beat males in the Arc de Triomphe (G1) and was broodmare of the year in England and Ireland.
Ultimate Love, trained by Michael Trombetta, will be ridden by John Velazquez. The Juvenile Fillies is race 8 on Friday’s card, with a post time of 7:05 pm ET.
The Breeders’ Cup is airing live across NBC, USA Network and Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, as well as on multiple online wagering platforms.
