A key to Live Oak Stud’s success on the racetrack has been our team of experts who are well versed at taking young babies and molding them into professional racehorses, while keeping a fundamental focus on the best interest of the horse. We not only train Live Oak Plantation runners, but those of the farm’s private clients, too, and have helped turn Live Oak Stud into one of the premier training centers in Florida (limited outside boarding/training).

When Live Oak Stud’s young horses begin their training, they may have a decided edge over youngsters getting their education at other farms and training centers. We have a wide diversity in our training program from jogging in the woods and trail rides, to our European style grass gallops. Our facilities are good for rehab as well as developing and settling young horses. We have also been highly successful at relaxing an older horse who just needs a change of venue and to be refreshed.

With its three-quarter of a mile track with starting gate, two exercisers, miles of wooded trails and a pair of 32-stall state-of-the-art barns surrounded by scenic views, the Live Oak Stud experience creates a peaceful training environment for young horses. As a result, the accomplishments of the farm’s long list of trainees – both Live Oak Plantation and its clients – have been substantial, including several major graded stakes winners and Eclipse champions.
