The farm itself won the award for Outstanding Owner, while the farm’s homebred 4-year-old filly Souper Escape was named Champion Older Main Track Female.
Live Oak finished 2020 with more than $1.1 million in Canadian earnings and five stakes wins. In addition to the aforementioned Souper Escape, the farm’s March to the Arch won the King Edward S. (G2), Salute With Honor won the Durham Cup (G3), and the 2-year-old filly Souper Sensational took the Glorious Song S. Overall, Live Oak won or placed in 57% percent of its starts.
Souper Escape, trained by Michael Trombetta, took divisional honors on the strength of a pair of graded stakes victories: the Seaway S. (G3) and the Trillium S. (G3). The daughter of Medaglia d’Oro also placed in a pair of listed stakes and earned over $200,000 for the year. Souper Escape is out of Oak Leaf S. (G1) winner Cry and Catch Me.
