The hands-on experience received by young horses through our ultra-experienced staff proves to be a great benefit when they reach their next level, at the racetrack. The moderate Florida climate allows Live Oak Stud residents to train year-round at one of the finest training centers in the south. Upwards of 100 yearlings have been broken in a single season.

One of the signature features at Live Oak Stud is the Normandy barn, which still houses yearlings to this day. Built in 1961, the French-influenced structure includes 12-stalls and is highlighted by a distinctive L-shaped design and central clock tower. Several renowned yearling purchases and celebrated racehorses resided at the Normandy barn as yearlings.
