Live Oak homebred Za Approval came from the back of the field to capture the $100,000 Red Bank S. (G3) at Monmouth Park on Saturday. The wins comes on the heels of his score in the $100,000 Appleton H., March 30 at Gulfstream Park.

Early on, things didn't look overly promising as Za Approval was eighth through the first six furlongs. But the 5-year-old found room between horses coming into the stretch, then put in a furious rally to get up by three-quarters of a length at the wire. Trained by
Christophe Clement, Za Approval covered the mile over firm turf in 1:34 2/5

“It’s really cool to ride an old pro like this horse,” said winning jockey Joe Bravo. “He just gave me the impression that he was in control the whole time. I was just waiting for a place to go and he did the rest.”

By Ghostzapper from the With Approval mare Win Approval, Za Approval boosted his lifetime record to 6-3-0 from 13 starts. He has now banked $302,165 for his connections.

Za Approval is out of the top-class Live Oak mare Win Approval. She is the dam of Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) winner Miesque's Approval, as well as 14-time stakes winner Revved Up.
