American Giant showed her affinity for the turf once again Saturday at Gulfstream Park West, driving to a two-length victory over stablemate Our Little Jewel in the $75,000 Juvenile Fillies Turf, her third win in as many starts on the grass.

American Giant and Our Little Jewel are both owned and were bred by Live Oak Plantation. The win was American Giant's first stakes score, and also the first stakes start and placing for Our Little Jewel.

American Giant took up a spot about four lengths from the front for the first five furlongs, with Our Little Jewel at the back of the seven-horse field. The eventual winner began to close in on the leaders on the turn, ultimately passing Song River on the outside with about a sixteenth to run. Our Little Jewel came up the inside to be a clear second in the one-mile event.

American Giant upped her earnings to $100,760. By leading sire More Than Ready, she is the first foal out of Giant Crystal, who is a half-sister to Wood Memorial S. (G1) winner Gemologist.
